North Rhine-Westphalia is a highly diverse state with more than 18 million inhabitants. What unites all of us is this: We love the new. This applies to cultural, economic, scientific, technical, and tourism trends as well in the more general sense. To supplement this common approach, each of the regions within our state – the Aachen region, the three “Bergisches Städtedreieck” towns, the Ruhr metropolitan region, Münsterland, Düsseldorf region, Lower Rhine, Ostwestfalen-Lippe, Cologne/Bonn region, and Südwestfalen – emphasizes its own special priorities.
