Elegant, extravagant, exclusive: Sarar creations stand out from the crowd. This traditional Turkish designer label offers fashion for men: high quality suits, shirts made from the finest Italian fabrics and stylish neckties. “Perfect cuts and attention to detail – that is the key to our success”, explains Emre Sarar, who manages European business together with his brother Emir.
In 1944, Emre and Emir’s grandfather began to fashion garments from a cramped, 13 square meter sewing room in Anatolia. Today, this family business is one of Europe’s largest clothing manufacturers. Sarar employs 5,500 people worldwide and manages five of its own factories in Turkey. Every day, 4,500 suits, 1,000 coats and 7,000 shirts roll off the assembly line.
For over 20 years, Sarar has been producing clothing for renowned European and American designer labels such as Marc O'Polo or Burberry, making their breakthrough with production for Hugo Boss. From the end of the 90s onwards, Sarar has not only been expanding the contract manufacture side of business, but also developing its own label.
The fashion company now sells its own clothing lines successfully in 22 countries. Sarar already has 202 boutiques, half of which are in Turkey. It also sells ready-to-wear clothing in various department stores and premium outlet stores. The Sarar group, which today comprises insurance companies, hotels and gas stations, founded its European headquarters in Düsseldorf in 2000.
The Rhine metropolis is one of the most important locations in the fashion world, alongside Milan, Paris and Florence. Here, over 330 companies from the textile and clothing industry employ around 31,500 people. The industry’s crème de la crème meet here twice a year for the leading international fashion trade fair, cpd. “As a fashion company, this creative city was our first choice”, says Emre Sarar, “here, we are hot on the heels of the very latest trends”.
The company’s offices are located in Düsseldorf’s MediaHarbor, due in part to the Managing Director’s partiality for the modern surroundings: “The newly designed harbor backdrop is unique.” The innovative, artistic buildings such as the Neue Zollhof or the Rheinturm are inspirational. For Sarar, however, another noteworthy fact is more important still: “All well-known industry brands have their offices in the direct vicinity”.
I travel on business a lot. From Düsseldorf, I can fly to all European cities within a maximum of 3 hours. As a trading company, the city’s excellent traffic infrastructure is of course, of essential importance.
Their energy. I am very impressed with the passion and enthusiasm that the people here exude. In addition, they are shaped by the cultural variety of this federal state: country of origin, skin color, religion are not an issue here. This is also one of the reasons why foreign companies feel so comfortable in the region.
Yes, any time.
We love the new quality.
