NORTH RHINE-WESTPHALIA WELCOMES INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS TRAVELERS AT DÜSSELDORF AIRPORT
The Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and NRW.INVEST announce:
Düsseldorf, 2 November 2009. The location campaign “We love the new….”, within which North Rhine-Westphalia presents itself as a cosmopolitan federal state, is now to be extended to Düsseldorf Airport. For a period of three months, location ambassador and Formula One star Michael Schumacher is to feature on a 12 x 10 meter poster on the airport’s car park, welcoming international business travelers and trade fair visitors to North Rhine-Westphalia.
In 2007, Minister of Economy for North Rhine Westphalia Christa Thoben initiated the “WirtschaftsServiceVerbund” (economic service association). This consortium, whose members are Düsseldorf and Cologne airports, the Düsseldorf, Essen, Cologne and Dortmund congress centers, the federal state’s own development agencies NRW.INVEST, NRW.International, NRW.URBAN, Tourismus NRW, ZENIT and NRW.Bank, is aimed at bringing about more intensive cooperation, particularly in terms of marketing the region of North Rhine-Westphalia. This partnership provides a wealth of possibilities for promoting the business location both at home and abroad. Already, it has resulted in online banners and adverts in exhibition catalogues, large-scale posters at the Düsseldorf and Cologne congress centers as well as the one currently on display at Düsseldorf airport. Minister of Economy Christa Thoben said of the partnership: “We are very pleased with the way in which this cooperation enables us to convey the campaign messages to trade fair visitors from abroad. It therefore perfectly complements the international location campaign put into effect around the world by the state-owned development agency NRW.INVEST.”
Information about the location campaign
“We love the new ...” is the slogan for the location campaign for North Rhine-Westphalia, which was launched in the autumn of 2008. Innovative power, cosmopolitan attitude and the concept of a “creative economy” are the campaign’s focal points and serve to position Germany’s most populated federal state as an attractive business location at the centre of Europe. The international campaign, which is to run until the end of 2010, aims to attract investors. Campaign components include adverts in international media, an image film, an image brochure, a multi-lingual internet site with geo-localization as well as international PR and events. The NRW.INVEST GmbH is responsible for the campaign. Find out more about North Rhine-Westphalia’s location marketing campaign on the internet at: www.welovethenew.com
