The ASIMO robots developed by Honda are currently the world’s most advanced humanoid robots – and in Bielefeld, they are to be made even more intelligent.

Maha Salem and Stefan Krüger, a pair of postgraduate students, are working with 160 scientists from all around the world on finding ways for robots to interact with people in the future. North Rhine-Westphalia is the ideal location for this unique project: its 59 universities and universities of applied sciences, plus its technology centers and non-university research facilities make it an outstanding environment for the development of an extremely wide range of fields. And with more than 460,000 students in North Rhine-Westphalia, the next generation of qualified personnel is always just around the corner, eager to discover the new.
